THE CAVE · Custom software

Custom software development in Lisbon.

Some products need software shaped around a particular business, community or way of working. THE CAVE creates custom software and digital platforms, combining development with the interfaces and brand experience people use.

Discuss your project

The scope

Start with how it needs to work.

Our independent studio is based in Lisbon, Portugal. The portfolio includes bespoke code for football platforms and e-commerce, with mobile applications forming part of several projects.

A specific workflow

Map the people, information and decisions involved. A football network with profiles and shortlists has a different structure from an academy platform with fixtures and statistics.

The product and its interface

Treat the software and the experience together. Navigation, content and feedback should make the underlying features understandable to the people using them.

Existing systems and new scope

Identify what already exists, what needs to connect and what deserves a bespoke solution. Agree on the boundaries before adding features or replacing a working process.

In practice

Selected work

See the bespoke code and wider product scope in our existing projects. These are examples of our work, with each contribution described in its case study.

Working together

From the question to the product.

  1. Understand the context

Discuss the current process, users, information and practical constraints.

  2. Define a useful release

Choose the essential workflows and the connections that belong in the initial scope.

  3. Build and review

Work through the software and interface, reviewing the agreed journeys as they take shape.

What should we know?

Describe what you are trying to make possible and how it works today. Existing tools, examples of the workflow and the people involved are useful starting points. You do not need a finished technical specification to start a conversation.
